JAKUPSIL 작업실 is a Korean term denoting a studio, atelier, or laboratory—a transdisciplinary space dedicated to processes of making across art, architecture, and cultural production. Rooted in both material construction and conceptual inquiry, Jakupsil activates vacant spaces through exhibitions, spatial interventions, and artist-led initiatives that blur the boundaries between studio, site, and narrative. Its mission is to expand the scope of architectural and curatorial practice through the integration of multiple disciplines, with a particular focus on the intersections of art, real estate, and regulatory frameworks.
ARCHITECTURE & DEVELOPMENT
Jakupsil provides architectural services across all phases—from concept and feasibility through construction documentation and administration. These services are delivered through collaborative models that combine the expertise of an in-house team with a trusted network of affiliates. Drawing on over two decades of collective experience, primarily within the Tri-State area, Jakupsil ensures a seamless and tailored process at each stage. The team comprises licensed architects, real estate professionals, and gallerists based in both the United States and Korea.

EXHIBITIONS & ART FAIRS
Recent initiatives include the New York solo debut of Anikoon; three group exhibitions featuring Jakupsil artists, participants from the SVA MFA program, and the Hierro collective in Queens; and a Williamsburg residency with the Korean artist Suh Yongsun. In parallel, Jakupsil has collaborated with brands such as Makku, Tones Bio, and World Memory, developing custom packaging across a range of products—from makgeolli, now distributed through major U.S. retailers including Whole Foods and H Mart, to vitamin lines. The collective has also partnered with real estate developers to curate exhibitions that activate vacant spaces, positioning art within the contingencies of urban development.
Looking ahead, upcoming projects include new artist residency programs in Midtown Manhattan and participation in art fairs across New York, Miami, and Los Angeles through 2026, including Future Fair, Focus Art Fair, Hamptons Fine Art Fair, SCOPE Miami Beach, Startup Art Fair LA, and Affordable Art Fair, with additional presentations to be announced on a rolling basis. Jakupsil continues to build platforms for emerging artists and designers while cultivating a collector and sponsor network to sustain and expand its activities in New York and beyond.
