JAKUPSIL

Jakupsil 작업실 is a Korean word for studio, atelier, or laboratory where various design agencies are tested. This method seeks a particular response to design challenges through iterative studies and discussions in the creative process. Our mission is to rethink the multifaceted architecture industry by expanding the scope of services across different design fields and areas of expertise. We are dedicated to providing bespoke solutions for each project. Jakupsil members are licensed architecture and real estate professionals, as well as art consultants, based in New York and Seoul.

Brett Lee  AIA NCARB LEED AP

Brett is a licensed architect in New York with over a decade of experience in hospitality, residential, retail, and institutional projects. He holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was awarded the AIA Henry Adams 1st Prize Medal and the Spayd Brook Gold Medal for design excellence. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Venice Biennale in 2016 and 2018 and the Seoul Architecture Biennale in 2017 and 2019. His architectural experience spans global firms such as UN Studio in the Netherlands, Coop Himmelb(l)au in Austria, Perkins Eastman and ARO in New York, CoA in Los Angeles, IK Studio in Philadelphia and Boston, and other offices across Asia and North America.

He also holds an Hon. BA in Art History and Studio Art with distinction from the University of Toronto. After initially pursuing a career in art, Brett transitioned to architecture. He now serves as gallery manager at Gallery JJ in Seoul, Korea, and as a licensed realtor in New York while continuing his architectural practice. His diverse background in both art and architecture informs bespoke solutions and approaches to design.
